On 13 November 2018, the EU-funded ARISE Plus programme supported the soft-launch of ASSIST for Trade in Services at the ASEAN Business and Investment Summit in Singapore. ASSIST is a free online tool operating since 2016 for Trade in Goods. ASSIST will address ASEAN trade in services cases by May 2019, as soon as the relevant authorities have been trained. ASSIST is a powerful trade facilitation tool that can be used by ASEAN-based enterprises to lodge complaints or to directly interact with ASEAN Governments in relation to intra-ASEAN cross-border issues. ASSIST has recently been enhanced with new anonymity features allowing ASEAN-based enterprises to file complaints anonymously through ASEAN-based trade associations, chambers of commerce and/or lawyers admitted to practice in one of the 10 ASEAN jurisdictions.
