The Second Experts Group Meeting on ASEAN Framework Agreement on Multimodal Transport (AFAMT) was held in Hoi An City (Viet Nam) from 26 to 29 August 2019, given the important role of Viet Nam is playing as lead country for the development and implementation of the AFAMT / TF3.1.
The objective of the 2nd Experts Group Meeting on AFAMT is to discuss and finalise the draft Implementation Framework for AFAMT and its Action Plan, as part of key deliverables under the ASEAN Transport Strategic Plan 20162025 / Kuala Lumpur Transport Strategic Plan (KLTSP). Representatives of AFFA, FIATA and UN-ESCAP were invited to share their expertise.
The Experts Group Meeting was attended by Government Transport Senior Officers of ASEAN Member States; ASEAN Secretariat representatives and representatives of the private sector from ASEAN Member States, such as the National Logistics Forwarders Associations of the respective ASEAN Member States.
The meeting has 12 sessions on the first two days and the last two days were continued on discussions among the government officials and private sector about the framework of the agreement and its future agenda.
