A three-day regional Foreign Direct Investment Statistics (FDIS) Workshop was organized in close cooperation with ASEANstat between 15-17 June 2021 as a virtual event. More than 50 officials of Central Banks, National Statistics Offices, and Ministries from all ASEAN member states (AMSs) participated to the event.
The objectives of the Workshop were:
(i) to discuss the draft issue-centring workplans prepared by the Expert (Yesim Sisik) for statistically more advanced and statistically less advanced AMSs on inward and outward FDI positions, outward FDI flows, ultimate investing country (UIC) and
(ii) to provide information on the areas that need further improvements. The issue-centring workplans were based on responses from AMSs to the stock-taking questionnaire, open data sources, and bilateral virtual meetings with AMSs held in April and May 2021.
