Workshop on the Outstanding Issues on ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) on Organic Agriculture Products was held on 08 September 2020 virtually through zoom platform.
The workshop was organised with the objective of establishing a common position by resolving the differences in opinion of EWG-OA Members on major issues that have been raised in comments on the first draft.
The issues identified are:
- Legally binding nature of the MRA
- Participation – voluntary of obligatory
- Competent Authority – role
- ASOA as a certifiable standard and as a reference
- Designation Bodies necessity and role
- Certification Marks- including requirements
