Video Conference (VC) Workshop on Increasing Effectiveness of Harmonisation of Standards in ASEAN was held in conjunction with the 44th meeting of the ACSSQ Working Group on Standards (WG1) on 18-19 August 2020.
The key issues discussed are:
- Processes for the Harmonisation of Standards
- Identical adoption, translations, reprinting
- Adoption of ASEAN harmonized standard by the Endorsement Method
- Harmonising modifications (technical deviations) prior to adoption of International Standards as ASEAN Harmonized Standards
- Lack of consistent time-line for adoption of ASEAN Harmonised Standards at the national level
- ASEAN Harmonised Standards developed and published by ACCSQ PWGs, Subcommittees and Task Forces that are not adopted from or aligned to International Standards.
